The Chifney Bit is a thin metal circle bit that should be attached to a sliphead.
The curved mouthpiece sits inside the horses mouth with the bottom ring sitting under the horse's chin.
The Chifney assists with leading sharp and strong horses by applying pressure to the tongue and bars of the horses mouth.
In the interests of safety, the lead rope should always be clipped onto both the bottom ring of the bit and ring of the headcollar.
