Meet the Team

We are very lucky at Tackshop.co.nz to have a great team of hugely knowledgeable staff, who are happy to share their experience with our customers. We all have our own areas of Expertise, but all have one thing in common, the love of our Equine Friends.

Nick White

Owner / Manager of Tackshop since before it existed in 2003, Nick does most of the Marketing, Facebook & Promotion side of things, but also replies to a few email queries, and is generally the “saddle man”, for anyone wanting to know about saddles & fitting.

Nick has been around horses for over 25 years, starting out in Pony Club, and going from there to groom for 3 day eventers in the UK & Europe. He has competed himself in Eventing, Dressage, and Show Hunter, but for the last 10 – 15 years has been concentrating on breeding Warmblood Horses, and more recently Thoroughbreds.

Nick holds his BHSAI, and is a qualified saddle fitter and member of the Australasian Saddle Fitters Association.

Penny Ewart

Penny is our Dispatch Manager, in charge of packing up and sending all your orders out. She is also normally the person on the other end of the phone when you ring to enquire about a product or order.

Penny came to join the Tackshop team in January 2012 after a long retail career with the Briscoes Group. Penny has close to 40 years riding experience behind her, which has ranged from competitive Dressage and Event Rider to Pony Club Mum and Instructor.

Penny & her daughter have currently got 4 horses at home that they regularly compete at training level dressage and one day events.

Sarah Gregory-Hunt

Sarah is our newest member of the team, who started in February 2013 on a contract basis in order to help input data to our new Point of Sales System.

Sarah now works on a more regular casual basis, mainly in an administrative role, entering invoices etc, but also helps Penny out with processing orders, answers the phone, and email enquiries, and generally assists in the shop where required. Sarah is originally from the Chatham Islands where she grew up around horses, riding since she was about 2 years old.

Sarah is a licenced Owner / Trainer and breeder of racehorses, but has also gone through Pony Club, and currently competes in low level Dressage & eventing.
